Preliminary task

For the preliminary task I have been asked to create a magazine based on the school, my first task is to create a cover and a contents page for our magazine, I took a few pictures related to the school as the magazine will be about the school. before making the cover and contents I need to sketch out my idea's so I have a better idea of what the magazine will look like. To give my self a better understanding of what a magazine had to include, I goggled a few images of front covers and contents pages of recently released magazines this helped a lot because i applied some of the idea on to my own work.

I have chosen to call the magazine daily school because its a magazine about school and its pretty self explanatory, if someone wanted to buy the magazine they would know exactly what its about, also the magazine will include daily news of school key events and articled that will help students who struggle with exams, the font will be sharp and professional cause year 11 have come to an age where they are maturing so the font will represent the previous year 11's. The mast head is placed right at the top as this is the first thing the reader will and it has to grab their attention. i will have to photo shop the background white as the back round is too distracting.

The image at the front was chosen because year 11 students just got their results and according to the school they were the best results the school has ever got, the image is of one of my class mates looking rather happy when receiving his results, i will make the color scheme eye catchy and suitable for the age it targeted towards, colors such as light blue or green would be bright enough.

the title for the contents page will be relevant to the magazine, the mast head will resemble the mast head on the front cover of the magazine the images will be of the building and pupils just working in lessons. the contents page will include a list of what the magazine will include in page order, the colour scheme will be appealing to the eye yet sophisticate as it is for young adults. the font will be a formal yet funky font as this will attract the audience the magazine is aimed at. the contents page state what artilce is on what page this is because if the reader wants to find an article they dont have to look through the whole magazine.
